Big Woods Brewing Company in Nashville, Indiana | Indiana Insider ...

Every year, swarms of leaf peepers make their pilgrimage to Brown County in southern Indiana to admire these woods at their finest, when fall is putting on its show of color. But every hiker, shopper, and autumn lover has to eat. And drink. And be merry.

So the addition of Big Woods Brewing Company to the dining scene in Nashville has been welcome by visitors and locals alike. Best known for their home brewed beer, they always have at least six varieties on tap. Their Busted Knuckle Ale is particularly popular, described as a ?light? porter.

You?ll need to eat plenty to soak up these brews, though, and fortunately Big Woods hasn?t skimped on the menu. They smoke their own barbecue and have their own special spice rub for their burgers. I?d save room for dessert and try out the stout-on-tap float. They also often have live music, so check their event schedule.

Big Woods is more than a brewery and restaurant though. It now comprises an entire village, including the brewery itself, the smokehouse, their?store (where you can get your own beer making supplies), and its most recent addition, Big Woods Pizza Company. I?m really excited they?ve opened a pizza place, because while the rest of the Big Woods complex is for adults 21 and over, kids are welcome here.

So if you?re one of the thousands flocking to Brown County this autumn, include a stop for a pint, pizza, or pork from Big Woods. They?re located at?60 Molly Ln. in Nashville. Visit the Big Woods website for more information.
