Great opportunity to set the standard in HR services!? Join this newly acquired company as the SME for Human Resources.? With a staff of 70, this company is ready to bring on an HR Generalist to manage HR services and HSE programs for their Calgary office and Alberta field offices.? You have the autonomy to manage this business division?s HR operations while collaborating with head office and peer business division HR professionals.
ROLE DUTIES:
- Ensure all HR operations, procedures, and policies are efficient and in compliance with legislation and best practices.
- Support HSE initiatives and programs by working closely with HSE team leads and advisors.
- Responsible to ensure HR and HSE goals and objectives are met within established timelines.
- Review and update HR & HSE Policies and Procedures as required.
- Provide management team monthly reports on HR and safety statistics, work in progress, recommendations, and initiatives.
- Disability claims management; including WCB, STD and LTD.
- Provide full-cycle recruitment for all levels of staffing.
- Facilitate new employee on boarding, orientations and ongoing staff training and development.
- Administration of performance management system along with coaching supervisors on performance review procedures.
- Administration and reconciliation of group benefit plan.
- Coordinate and participate in workplace incident investigations and reporting.
- Coach supervisors and managers on employee management in the areas of development, discipline and rewards.
- Ensure policy compliance and confidentiality in the administration of Drug & Alcohol testing.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and business partners such as the WCB, local and provincial HR and HSE regulatory and government agencies.
ROLE QUALIFICATIONS:
- HR Diploma/Certificate and/or equivalent experience.
- Proven knowledge in Human Resources legislation, trends, best practices and processes.
- Knowledgeable in HSE practices and programs; understanding of Canadian OH&S Code.
- Knowledge of requirements for CORE certification an asset.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Exhibit professional attitude and manner.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to make sound decisions.
- Have basic accounting knowledge or experience.
- Excellent computer skills (Office Suite:? Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
- Ability to engage with and establish relationships with a variety of people.
