CCHS stages 'Pink Out' against breast cancer

MOULTRIE ? Colquitt County High School staff and students show their support for the staff, friends, and family who have battled through breast cancer. On Oct. 12, more than 630 students and staff dressed in pink, walked out to the football practice field, and organized themselves into a massive ribbon, the statement symbol for breast cancer awareness. ?We were so excited to see so many of our young people show empathy towards this cause,? said Farran Burnette, an economics teacher at CCHS. ?So many of our staff and students have been impacted because of this specific type of cancer, and it was so beautiful to see them all come together to show the community that we have big hearts and we do care. One out of eight women will experience breast cancer, and it is important that our students know the odds and are educated on such numbers and statistics.?
